It does Matter - The Famous Starfish Story

It does matter. One day, after a big summer thunderstorm, a man came to a beach where millions of starfish had washed ashore. At the edge of the water stood a little 10 year old boy, doing what the old man thought, "a fools errand." With meticulous care, the boy would pick up a starfish, dust it off, and then gently place it back into the sea.
The man watched this for a few minutes and then looked around at the millions of starfish still left on the beach. Incredulously he said to the boy, "Look around you. I don't know why you're bothering. It's not going to matter." Unfazed, the boy picked up another starfish, dusted it off, and gently lowered it into the surf. He turned to the man, smiled and said, "It did to that one."
